IPANE has been helping the National Park Service (NPS) identify and evaluate invasive species at national parks in the northeast. In April, 2002 we convened a meeting of NPS botanists and regional floristic botanists who have been involved with identifying invasive plants in their state or region. A list of species of interest to the parks was developed by compiling all available lists of invasive species and noxious weeds throughout the region and then comparing those with known problem invasives at the different parks.

Detailed information on each of these species was compiled by IPANE staff members Katie Boiteau, Stacey Leicht and Les Mehrhoff. These datasheets are the basis of identification workshops for NPS staff.
